Shoki Midwest Paranormal Sciences (SMPS) was founded by a small group of experienced paranormal investigators. This team brings multiple decades of combined experience into the field of study. With a collective desire to help people, SMPS believes that understanding, professionalism, and scientific method are our best means of helping clients.

Our role is to educate people about the possibilities surrounding all aspects of the paranormal and anomalous occurrences. Additionally, we intend to promote knowledge of the potential real-world explanations for the latent anomalies that could be assumed to be of a paranormal nature.

The subject of the paranormal is a wide and varied one. We are fully aware that it is not yet a part of the established scientific community. However it should be noted that established science still has many questions that are yet to be answered. Paranormal studies have a vast assortment of foundations, all of which are only theoretical and as such have yet to be in any way proven. There is a reason that the words “paranormal” & “anomalous” have become somewhat synonymous with “unexplained”. What we try to do is reach the most logical possible group of conclusions by using all of the information available to us. This is so a person can make as educated a determination, as is possible, regarding their life in relation to the world around it. Comfort and piece of mind for those that contact us is our primary concern.

Our goal for those we intend to help is to alleviate fear and/or discomfort within their home or place of business. We do this by promoting safety and comfort within their homes, workplaces, and lives in general. We also encourage a greater knowledge of the factors, paranormal or otherwise, that they may be experiencing. Knowing someone is not alone, and that they will not be made to feel silly for believing something other than the physical world is having an impact on their life can, in itself, be beneficial.

In addition to all of this we also provide historical research of the location and general area in question to assist in education about & respecting the past.

Shoki Midwest Paranormal Science is named after a Japanese legend that is based on the Chinese “Ghost Hunter,” Zhong Kui. Zhong Kui/Shoki was a scholar and physician who was scientific-minded and wise but was shunned because he was different. He was later celebrated as a protector. The name Shoki grew to mean more than a single man, Shoki is an ideal that can transcend culture and religion. Shoki Midwest Paranormal Sciences is about bringing comfort to people and helping them understand what may be happening in their homes. Should the client need further assistance in finding peace and protection then we do all we can to help.

We are here to aid anyone dealing with a possible paranormal situation, and we will do that in a professional and courteous manner. Our main goal throughout is to offer comfort and understanding to the client.

SMPS is a Not-For-Profit organization comprised of volunteers who donate their time to help those living in fear. While we do accept donations, no member of the organization receives monetary compensation in any way for their service.
